But the first three are amazing.James Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04871338738388893364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3808227584959676379.post-6531232008104310692009-05-07T15:40:00.000-04:002009-05-07T15:40:00.000-04:00The first three books were great - and then, as se...The first three books were great - and then, as seems to be the case with so many fantasy authors, Martin really seemed to lose his way (Jim, I think we talked about this at some point). I tried reading the fourth book but only got half-way through. Maybe I will wait for the miniseries.Tedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07579278209945909390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3808227584959676379.post-44146664005186697312009-05-07T14:13:00.000-04:002009-05-07T14:13:00.000-04:00I am a big fan of The Station Agent, and can give ...I am a big fan of The Station Agent, and can give it an unqualified endorsement. It was one of those movies that just got to me. I haven't seen The Visitor yet, but I'm pretty sure it's in my netflix cue.

I confess I haven't yet read any of the books in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, but everyone I know who's read them gives them high praise. From everything I've heard, the George R. R. Martin series is not your father's epic fantasy. As Time Magazine's review of the fourth book states: " 'A Feast for Crows' isn't pretty elves against gnarly orcs. It's men and women slugging it out in the muck, for money and power and lust and love."

By the way, it's not a movie that's planned but a television series. One book will be covered in each season.

Anyway, the whole thing sounds intriguing.Big Mykhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09488250533536442903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3808227584959676379.post-1151730429563057642009-05-07T10:46:00.000-04:002009-05-07T10:46:00.000-04:00Hmm...Tom McCarthy. But Game of Thrones is not like a normal fantasy book. You could probably make 3 movies out of the 1st book.James Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04871338738388893364noreply@blogger.com
