Brain Teaser II

You are in the basement with three clearly marked (as in "on" or "off") switches. Each switch corresponds to one of three light bulbs in the attic. You may turn the switches on or off and leave them in any position. How can you identify each switch with the corresponding light bulb with only making one trip to the attic?

I like this one because, not only is it a real situation, but it requires some time to think about it.

What do you mean, this "is it a real situation?" Who has the switch for their attic lights in the basement?

Think of it as a fuse switch (and a pothead electrician wired the house).

Actually, it's not a fuse switch; just regular switches for lights. And, yes, it isn't life-like. At least there are lights and switches and not tribes of people who only exclusively tell the truth or lie. Perhaps someone had a house built to train going up and down stairs.
