Jim has recently posted two poems on the blog: "Birds" and "Words." I gotta believe that this was his inspiration. (N.B. This is from a time when lyrics meant something.)
Wow!! I'm sure subconsciously that was my inspiration! I guess I never realized there was not a single verse in that song. It does capture the essence of rock 'n roll. And, in some perverse way, the poems. It evokes the transition between the simple and the lyrical in the first poem, but, even better, the transitional world between wordlessness and words, between non-modality and modality in the second.
