The Evils of Evil or is anything sacred, relatively speaking?

Tolkien fans, perhaps you are familiar with The Last Ringbearer by Kirill Yeskov, and recently (2010) translated from the Russian by Yisroel Marokov. I was not. Everything you need to know about the book can be found here including a link to a free, legal downloadable copy. At least, the author of the Salon article, Laura Miller, implies it is legal.
