This just made my Christmas Wishlist

Finally I can take a Sunday drive with my personal helicopter 8000 feet in the air.

From the "When will they ever learn" department:
When I was young we were told that we would all have rocket packs.
Of course we were also told that marijuana would be legal and that we would be able to go to school forever too, but those are comments for other postings.

BTW, you can't post url's or pictures in comments? I wanted to post the pictures (videos?) of the Bell jet pack of the 50's and 60's. It was much more stream line than this current iteration:)

Yeah, I have yet to figure out how to improve the comments- no pics, hyperlinks, video. I looked at the Bell jet pack of the 50s and 60s 1) because of James Bond and 2) they revisited the technology in 2000 with new composite materials. In fact the 2000 version could fly 50% longer-30 seconds versus 20 seconds (the story about the 2000 project is really interesting- an actual tale about thief and kidnapping). Though this Martin version is less streamline and more a personal helicopter than a rocket at least it can go for 30 minutes and 31 miles on 5 gallons. Could go further but FAA would require the owner of the vehicle to get a pilot's license. It could become the next outdoor entertainment vehicle like the quads of the air. Also after this past election marijuana has less restrictions than ever before so maybe legalization soon, though I am the eternal optimist.
