Naming the Harvey Blog

"Harvey's Blog" is a lame name so I leave it up to you guys who are much more creative. Place your names in the comments section. I'll take the names in a few days and if there is enough, I'll construct an online poll in the sidebar. The poll will be open until the March 23rd. Since we are Irish, Tammany Hall politics are in effect-aka ballot stuffing is encouraged.

Looking for a replacement for the Harvey Blog? How about the McKenzie Blog? or maybe a little more exotic... the Pierre-Louis Lefèvre Blog? How can you do better than a hyphen AND an accent grave?

I guess I was looking for something without the word blog but I do like the hyphen and accent grave.

f you don't like the word blog, what about the Harvey Fog, the Harvey Grog, the Harvey Eggnog, the Harvey Demagogue, the Harvey Dialogue. . .

Nice, good start. It would be nice to separate ourselves with something a little creative instead of the other 112 million weblogs that are named as "(insert noun) Blog".

How about "The 112th million weblog named (insert noun) Blog"? I like the Harvey Grog or Fog, it seems to catch the spirit of the writing.

OK, this is what I really thought after Peter made his request (Well, after "The Mysterium Tremendum", which is always my 1st thought typically followed by "The Teddy Bears Picnic" or "The ineluctable modality of the visible".)

"Calvin Ball"->"Three Team Release"->"Games under construction"->"In Progress"

He I stopped. Although not real funny, I liked this because it caught the journey/means-are-ends spirit as well as emphasizing the "hey, we are making this up as we go" aspect that is what life is all about.

"He" of course should read "Here".

Wait! I wasn't submitting those names; I was just showing how my mind works so I wouldn't be misunderstood. But, of course, I was misunderstood again. My submission was "In Progress".

Whoops, I see your written thought process now, I misread your comment, though I am keeping Three Team Release (because I reminisce about three team ultimate frisbee) and Here I Stopped (because I like it).

I voted for "In Progress" because this weekend I watched "In Bruges" again and was reminded of the greatness of that movie. Somehow, when I saw the potential name for our blog "In Progress" the same good feeling I got when I watched "In Bruges" was triggered, and I voted for "In Progress" That was my thought process anyway.

Just another idea for the Harvey blog:

"Harvey Hypotheses"...I'm sure almost everyone has already voted though.

James R said...

I haven't voted yet, but it's kind of like James and "The Wire." I love voting so much that I want to keep the anticipation going.

Let's have more things to vote on!

I enjoyed "In Bruges" a lot also. Maybe I should see it again.

James R said...

Why does it say "12 votes so far" when there are 18 votes cast?

Peter H of Lebo said...

I allowed multiple choices for one vote, in case people do not have the constitution to be decisive and choose one answer (hence 12 votes with 18 answers). I will also add Big Dave's suggestion and a week as I will be out of the country and like James R, I love the continuing anticipation.

Also, it is encouraged to find creative ways for your vote to count for more than other peoples. Democracy powered by creativeness or earned despotism earned by creativeness.
