The mother of 11-year-old Madeline Neumann is presently on trial in Wisconsin for reckless homicide in her daughter's 2008 death. An autopsy found that Madeline had died from untreated diabetes. Her parents refused to treat her and believed that the girl's illness was a "test of faith."
She had probably been ill for about 30 days, suffering symptoms like nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness.
