Those of you who have read The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell already know how tall a single sheet of paper folded 50 times would be (if you were able) but for those who haven't, it would reach approximately to the Sun.
I was going to show my wide breadth of knowledge that a piece of paper could not be folded more than 7 times, something I tried as a child. However, when I checked to make sure the number was 7, I found http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2005/12/21/1523497.htm (Sorry, I still can't embed a url in a comment.)
I would encourage you to read the whole article. It is short. How many millions of people, like myself, folded and failed and walked away?

Great read, I was always under the assumption 7-8 folds, I was way off.
