Cocker at Woodstock -- Best Beatles' cover ever

Joe Cocker at Woodstock courtesy of Hendrick Hertzberg. Extra added bonus: subtitles.

Says Hertzberg:
Sheer genius. Genius twice over, in fact. First, Cocker’s performance, one of the high points of Woodstock and one of the greatest covers ever—certainly the greatest Beatles cover. Second, this subtitled version, which transforms Cocker’s just as comprehensively as Cocker’s transformed Ringo’s.
This has been around a while, but “only” half a million people have seen it—many fewer than it deserves.

Some time back Bill posted:
Experts say that the best song lyrics and song title of all time come from the same forty year old song and that no titles or lyrics have come close since then:

Best Song Title: "You're so Vain, You Prob'ly Think this Song is About You"
Best Song Lyrics: Tied for first from the same song

(Unfortunately, the experts based this, to quote Bill, "simply from the use of the word 'gavotte' ")

While a few of us non-experts offered alternatives, now that Joe Cocker's lyrics (via subtitles) have been revealed, I feel confident that those same experts have reconsidered and re-awarded the "Best Lyrics" title. I'm not sure the lyrics have the same impact without the pictures however.

"You're so Vain" does retain the title for "Best Pop Song Using 'Gavotte' to Complete a Rhyme with Apricot."
