Renée, Francis, and Michael have created a video for a contest. If their video gets the most votes, a reward will be given. Watch for the video here! Click on 6-9 grade entries and the video is under Pittsburgh Obama, Renee Eddy Harvey, Jonas Salk and the Polio Vaccine. After you watch the video, make sure you vote for it!

I especially like the action. Many of the other films are basically talking heads. But the best thing is the production value. How did you get the black & white graininess of the 1950's look? Dr. Salk looks so young! He certainly was a genius.

It took some time to create this video....getting Francis into character took weeks! The graininess effect is all Windows Media Maker. I just found out there is only one other competitor in our category, a high schooler from Mt. Lebanon, so if we can outvote him, then this contest is in the bag!

I saw that one (if that is the other one about Salk), and, again, like many of the movies, it was an essay in movie format. I'm surprised that so few people got creative. Unfortunately, I could only vote once.

The only problem with your film is you dad standing in the background. Don't you have more control over him?

You can vote more than once if your morals allow it, since it is cookie-based. Hopefully the other video doesn't realize the voting flaw or maintains the same moral principles of voting just once.
